Life on Mars

...is addictive.

I finished the first four episodes last night, and am having to physically restrain myself from watching more. I'm trying to *coughACQUIREcough* some DVDs that won't cost me an arm and a leg so I can share the joy with my parents. Although, hrm, they didn't take to Torchwood as well as I had hoped. Oh well, here's hoping.

I was telling mumumugen about it this morning, and how much I really don't want to like Gene, but I'm being dragged kicking and screaming from the "grudging respect" camp to "Oh, Gene!". Episode Four just about did me in. The man is an onion -- he's got layers! I'm finding it fascinating how much I can really dislike so many things about a character but still like him. I really enjoy Sam too, but am at the point in the series where I still want him to wake up. Creepy TV girl and her clown doll are -- well, creepy. Sam really needs to turn his TV off at night so she stops crawling out of it ala The Ring.

BTW, friendshipper, one day... one day I'll find something wildly amazing that you won't be able to get enough of. Then you shall be cursing my name as you stare at ~20K's worth of remaining story and an approaching deadline. Granted, you really can't be responsible for any procrastination at all. Or anything really but giving it a thumbs up... but still! Then you shall rue the day that you said, "Yeah, check it out" to me in such a friendly  and nonthreatening voice.

Go on... start rueing!

Okay, it's a pipe dream, but let me have my moment.

First Heavy Time/Hellburner, now Life on Mars. What next? Those graphic novels that are sitting on my shelf, waiting for me to reach August and free brain space? Don't answer that question!
